Broken Treaty Series: Thunderbird and Turtle Shields with Two Horses

This Broken Treaty piece is a sweet little vertical painting with two Appaloosas and a shield with the Thunderbird and one with the Turtle.  The Turtle means many things in many cultures, and in some Native traditions, was part of a creation myth and represented longevity and wisdom. This piece was down with a ink, and then painted with fluid acrylics. It is a nice vertical shape.

The Broken Treaty Series uses a Dakota Territories map from the Library of congress, torn and collaged onto canvas.  Then I paint on top of the map.  The series is Broken Treaty because every treaty with Native nations were broken.

This piece is 10 x 20, on canvas, ready to hang with wire. Comes with FREE SHIPPING!
