Wyoming

Wyoming got its name because I painted it while I was in Wyoming.  It is a traditional ledger art design, using pictographs used by the First Peoples who lived on the Great Plains.  I try to capture the "feel" of that time.  The american bison is a symbol of power and strength, and was considered a great gift provided by the Great Spirit for the survival of the people. Luckily the bison did not die out, and their numbers are growing.

These prints are torn and wrinkled by hand to make them look like they could be originals, and also because that just looks cool.  They come mounted on black foam board and you can use a technique called "floating" when you frame it. The print is approximately 7.5 x 11.5 inches. Foam board is 9.5 x 13.5 inches.  Comes with an explanation sheet of totem animals and their meanings.
