This Broken Treaty piece has a warrior riding his turquoise blue Appaloosa across the Dakotas-(at least the map of the Dakotas!) This painting is a 20 inch circle on canvas and is painted with beautiful turquoise blues, and is painted with fluid acrylics and drawn with an acrylic pen.

The Broken Treaty Series uses a Dakota Territories map from the Library of congress, torn and collaged onto canvas.  Then I paint on top of the map.  The series is Broken Treaty because every treaty with Native nations were broken.
